“The heart cannot love what the mind does not know…if we want to feel deeply about God, wemust learn to think deeply about God…We must make a study of our God: what he loves, what he hates, how he speaks and acts. We cannot imitate a God whose features and habits we have never learned. We must make a study of him if we want to become like him. We must seek his face.”
-JEN WILKIN
Part of the church’s role in discipleship and Christian formation is equipping the mind so that it can lead the heart. As we work toward deeper affections for God, we must learn more about him—his nature, his character, and his work in the world through Jesus. Risen Church Institute exists for that purpose: to equip the mind for the sake of leading the heart.
The Institute program consists of various classes and seminars, offered at different times throughout the calendar year.
The Mission
This spring our Men's and Women's Bible Studies will work through the book of Ruth. Ruth is a literary masterpiece that highlights God's faithfulness to ordinary people. It celebrates the coming of a king. Join us in looking to our promise-keeping God who turns our emptiness into fullness.
This 8-week study begins the week of Jan. 12, and ends the week of March 16. There are Sunday evening and mid-week options for this study available, all hosted at Risen Church North.
Those options are:
1. Sunday Evenings, 4:30-6:00pm, both Men's and Women's bible study groups, childcare available
2. Monday Mornings, 9:30-11:00am, Women's study only, no childcare
3. Thursday Mornings, 6:00-7:30am, Men's study only, no childcare
