Risen Institute
Part of the church’s role in discipleship and Christian formation is equipping the mind so that it can lead the heart. As we work toward deeper affections for God, we must learn more about him—his nature, his character, and his work in the world through Jesus. Risen Church Institute exists for that purpose: to equip the mind for the sake of leading the heart.
The Institute program consists of various classes and seminars, offered at different times throughout the calendar year.

We cannot imitate a God whose features and habits we have never learned. We must make a study of him if we want to become like him. We must seek his face.”

Fall 2026
This 8-week class will cover the habits and disciplines of the Christian life. The goal of this class is to help disciples of Jesus learn practical ways to follow Jesus and to be conformed more to the image of Jesus. Students will be introduced to the spiritual disciplines of prayer, fasting, worship, Christian meditation, rest, and more. The class is on Sunday evenings, 4:30-6:00pm, from Sept. 13 through Nov. 8 (no class on Oct. 11 for Fall Break).

Childcare will be provided for babies through 5th grade. We are asking that each family unit in need of childcare pay $25 to help offset the cost of childcare. The $25 covers the entire 8-week class for all children in a family. Please do not hesitate to let us know if this fee is a financial barrier for you attending.
